We recently purchased a barrel sauna from SDS Australia and we couldn’t be happier. The design and quality of the sauna is fantastic but what was even more amazing was the incredible help and support that we got from the SDS team. I recently had the pleasure of dealing with SDS Australia for a timber cladding order for a sauna build, and I can honestly say the level of customer service I received was nothing short of outstanding.
Due to a misunderstanding around board size coverage, I found myself short on material. What could have been a major delay was instead resolved quickly and professionally—with SDS covering the shortfall and even the interstate freight costs, all with minimal outlay on my part.
A special mention must go to Tony, the warehouse manager, whose exceptional communication, attention to detail, and after-hours support made the whole experience refreshingly simple. On a Friday evening, Tony went above and beyond—coordinating with the head of accounts to issue an invoice and organise interstate shipping to ensure I wasn’t delayed in completing my project. It’s incredibly rare these days to come across individuals and companies so dedicated to customer satisfaction.
The timber arrived well-packaged, on time, and the quality and finish were absolutely first class. Everything about the experience—from order to delivery—reflected a company that truly values its customers and stands behind its products.

Brought about 150 pieces of sauna wood and every one of them was perfect. No knots, no bowing no issues at all. Interstate delivery was fast also. Very happy.

SDS supplied all sauna fit off materials and equipment for my home sauna project. They were very easy to deal with. Had to do few exchanges from my initial order and it was all done hassle free. Quoting and payments were also fast and easy. Highly recommend!!

I just had Damien & James fly from Sydney to Townsville to build a custom sauna in my new home (still under construction). And to say I’m impressed is an understatement, the craftsmanship, quality of materials & professionalism from both tradesmen during the three day build was next level. The guys kept me in the loop concerning all aspects of the sauna’s construction & went out of their way to ensure every aspect of the finished product was exactly to my specifications. I chose SDS over cheaper competitors because of their use of quality Cedar & professional heaters, but I will recommend them due to the quality of their Tradesman. I would not hesitate to use this company again, really happy.
