Overview

The Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Clear Satin is a clear, satin finish based on natural oils, designed to protect exterior wood surfaces while preserving their natural appearance.

Formulated for vertical and architectural timber, it penetrates deeply into the wood to create a microporous finish that allows the timber to breathe while reducing swelling, shrinkage, cracking and flaking. Unlike traditional coatings, it will not peel, crack or flake over time.

With a UV protection factor up to 12 (when applied in 2 coats), it significantly slows down the natural greying process of exterior timber while maintaining its authentic look and grain structure.

The finish is water and dirt resistant, environmentally friendly, and safe for humans, animals and plants once dry. It is suitable for use in residential, commercial and architectural exterior applications where long-term timber protection is required.

Application: Easy to apply by brush or roller. Simply apply two thin coats to clean, dry timber following the direction of the wood grain.
Performance: Microporous, breathable finish that helps reduce swelling and shrinkage while resisting water, dirt, cracking, peeling and flaking.
Coverage: Approximately 45 m² per coat per 2.5 L container. Actual coverage may vary depending on timber species and surface condition.
Maintenance: Inspect coated surfaces annually. Refresh with a maintenance coat as required—no sanding is needed for recoating properly maintained surfaces.
Suitable Applications: Ideal for exterior vertical timber including cladding, façades, pergolas, fences, balconies, doors, windows and other architectural woodwork.
Safety: Once fully cured, the finish is safe for humans, animals and plants, making it suitable for residential and commercial outdoor environments.
